Elyse leads the efforts of Cooley’s financial services regulatory practice group regarding resource development, knowledge management and practice innovation – with an emphasis on developing resources for and advising on current issues and developments in financial services. Elyse was previously a senior associate in the financial services regulatory group, where her practice focused on advising fintech companies and other financial institutions on compliance issues related to the offering and operation of financial products and services, including credit, debit, and prepaid cards and other consumer lending constructs. She regularly worked with bank and nonbank lenders to develop and launch various consumer lending products, including assisting clients in navigating the state licensing and registration process and with managing regulatory compliance obligations. She also advised clients on compliance with federal and state lending and payments laws, including the Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as well as state lending and credit laws.
