About Patrick

Patrick is an associate in Cooley’s intellectual property litigation practice group. He rejoined Cooley after serving as a patent law clerk for Judge Beth Labson Freeman of the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Having studied neural networks and co-designed a cryptocurrency during law school, Patrick mainly focuses his practice on software and electronics – including artificial intelligence, light detection and ranging (LiDAR), augmented and virtual reality, semiconductor chips, video coding, microelectronics and wireless technology. Patrick leverages his background as a travel writer and journalist to break down complex technologies and craft winning arguments in high-stakes patent cases.
