Cooley Secures Resounding Win in College Renaming Suit

Cooley secured a resounding victory on behalf of the board of directors for the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly the University of California, Hastings College of the Law), in a case stemming from the removal of Serranus Clinton Hastings’ name from the law school. The case is Hastings College Conservation Committee et al. v. State of California et al. before the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Division Four (San Francisco City and County Supreme Court No. CGC-22-602149). Partners Joshua Anderson, Eduardo Santacana and Benedict Hur led the Cooley team representing the board of directors of UC Law San Francisco.
