DigitalOcean Agrees to Buy Cloudways

New York – August 26, 2022 – Cooley advised DigitalOcean Holdings, the cloud for developers, startups, and small and midsize business (SMBs), on its agreement to buy Cloudways, a Pakistani-managed cloud hosting and software as a service provider, for $350 million. Lawyers Kevin Cooper and Bill Roegge led the Cooley team advising DigitalOcean.

The deal will expand DigitalOcean’s serviceable market within global SMBs and enhance options for digital agencies, ecommerce sites, bloggers, freelance developers and builders. The purchase also will increase DigitalOcean’s global employee base by 30% and add expertise in key growth areas that will continue to drive productivity and performance across the platform.
