From the General Data Protection Regulation to the California Consumer Privacy Act – and all the other new data protection frameworks arising in the US, Asia and Latin America – navigating the global data protection landscape is a challenge for most organizations. In this virtual series, Cooley practitioners provide attendees with practical guidance and best practices around managing data protection-related issues. We also keep you up to date on recent developments in the ever-evolving regulatory landscape.

Session 5: Meeting the CCPA’s Training Requirements

Did you know that there are training requirements under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the CCPA)? Specifically, the law requires that all individuals responsible for handling consumer inquiries about a business’s privacy practices or CCPA compliance be informed of relevant requirements in the CCPA and how to direct consumers to exercise their rights under the legislation. This webinar is designed to cover many aspects of the CCPA training requirements by providing an overview of the law and addressing its provisions regarding notices and consumer rights. Companies can then supplement this training with company-specific education focused on their own policies and procedures. In connection with the webinar, we will provide an outline that participants can use to identify areas where they should supplement with their own trainings.
