The CLE Speaker Series is a legal education program focused on a variety of newsworthy business and litigation topics. Specialty credits in the areas of competence, elimination of bias, ethics and implicit bias were offered.

Session eight

This program covered current hot-button ethics issues that in-house lawyers confront on a regular basis. Topics included:

  • New rules and key opinions 
  • Duty of competence
  • Confidentiality and privilege, including cybersecurity and protecting client data on devices and servers, and with vendors
  • Duties related to candor 
  • Duties regarding third parties
  • Duties of supervisory and subordinate attorneys 
  • Disrespect, discrimination and harassment issues under Rule 8.4
