Highly Respected Finance Partner Joins Cooley in London
London – February 11, 2016 – Cooley continues to enhance the capabilities of its UK office with the arrival of finance partner John Clark. Clark will join Cooley from the London office of Mayer Brown.
Clark represents lenders, borrowers, trustees and debt investors in connection with cross-border and domestic financing transactions, acquisitions and restructurings. He advises clients that operate in a range of sectors including aviation, finance, manufacturing and real estate.
"Cooley is rapidly making a name for itself in the London legal market," Clark said. "I'm excited to be a part of a firm with such evident momentum and to help companies, sponsors and lenders meet their strategic goals through financing transactions."
"John's deep knowledge in handling complex debt and leveraged finance transactions will prove incredibly valuable for our client base," said Justin Stock, managing partner of Cooley's London office. "It's great to get him on board."
Clark is recognized as a leading lawyer by the Legal 500 for Acquisition Finance and Bank Lending: Investment Grade Debt and Syndicated Loans; and by Chambers UK for Banking & Finance, in which a client states: "He is creative in his approach and nimble in handling multi-jurisdictional issues from an English law perspective."
Since opening the London office in January 2015 with 19 partners, Cooley has announced the arrival of seven additional partners including Stephen Rosen and Natasha Kaye from Olswang; John Wilkinson and Nicola Maguire from Reed Smith; Paula Holland from WilmerHale; Louise Delahunty from Sullivan & Cromwell; and now Clark from Mayer Brown.
