Session 5: AI + Employment

9:30 am PST // 12:30 pm EST // 5:30 pm GMT

This session covers myriad issues related to employment counseling and litigation from an AI perspective in the US and the UK. We discuss best practices associated with AI-powered tools, including compliance with laws and administrative guidance concerning the use of these tools in employment decisions and managing generative AI usage by employees to perform their jobs. As part of our examination of the use of AI in the hiring and promotion process, we also discuss bellwether New York City Local Law 144, a first-of-its-kind law that prohibits the use of qualifying AI-powered tools for employment decision-making without conducting an annual bias audit, as well as complying with publication and notification requirements. Presented by Joseph Lockinger, Steven Zuckerman and Chris Stack.
