About Virat
Virat Gupta represents clients in all aspects of employment counseling and litigation. He advises employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment statutes, including those governing recruitment and hiring, workplace discrimination and harassment, wage and hour practices, employee leave and disability issues, employee misconduct and termination and misclassification. He also assists clients with developing and implementing personnel practices and procedures, and drafts and reviews employment, confidentiality, non-compete and separation agreements.
Prior to joining Cooley, Virat was a litigation associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in New York.
While at Columbia Law School, Virat worked as a judicial intern for Chief Judge Aida Delgado-Colon of the US District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and a law clerk for Vladeck, Raskin & Clark. He was a Tony Patiño Fellow and served as a teaching assistant for the Columbia Mediation Clinic. He also served as special features editor of the Columbia Journal of Race & Law and Professional Development Chair for Columbia’s South Asian Law Students Association. During and prior to law school, Virat served as a field staffer and deputy campaign manager on political campaigns in the Midwest and New York City.
