Shimeng’s transactional practices focus on structured products, synthetic derivatives, asset-backed financing and asset tokenization. She has extensive experience counseling corporations, crypto and fintech firms, private equity and hedge funds, and other alternative asset managers on the structuring of complex financial products and alternative asset platforms for both traditional asset classes and digital assets. She is also experienced with issuer equity derivatives, including convertible note derivatives, accelerated share repurchases, variable forwards and margin loans. In addition, she frequently advises life sciences clients on structured royalty financing and other debt financings.

Shimeng’s regulatory practice includes counseling clients on US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulations relating to derivatives, retail commodity and forex transactions and providing holistic structuring advice to support the launch of alternative asset platforms and digital tokens.
