Her work ranges from advising early-stage edtech companies to assisting established colleges and universities. She regularly counsels clients on matters involving student’s and children’s data, including providing general advice on compliance with related laws, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements for edtech companies in schools, and advising clients on the use of artificial intelligence in schools. Her practice also involves issues such as state authorization, accreditation and federal student aid as well as compliance with Title IX. Additionally, Shannon handles matters involving school approval to participate in the US Student and Exchange Visitor Program and in US Department of Veterans Affairs funding, including representing institutions in administrative proceedings before regulatory agencies.
