Sale works with emerging companies in all stages and industries, advising on company formations, venture financings, M&A, joint ventures and other strategic and corporate governance matters. He focuses on building long-term relationships, typically partnering with startups from the very beginning and providing legal and strategic advice along their shared journey toward success. Sale also advises venture capital funds and global corporations on venture investments and complex strategic transactions. In the earlier part of his career, he advised companies and underwriters on initial public offerings, follow-on offerings and other capital markets transactions and assisted public companies with their US Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance work.

    Cooley Represents Higgsfield in Its $400M Series B Financing at $5.4 Billion Valuation

    Cooley represented Higgsfield in its $400 million Series B financing at a $5.4 billion valuation. The round was led by DST Global, with participation from Tribe Capital, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Smash Capital, Fifth Wall, Valor Capital, Intel Capital, Liberty Global Tech Ventures, Mirae Asset Capital and NTT DOCOMO Ventures. Existing investors, including Accel, Menlo Ventures and GFT Ventures, also participated. Higgsfield is an AI video platform and plans to use the proceeds to fund research and development, expand global infrastructure, hire AI talent and scale its sales operations.

    Partner Sale Kwon led the Cooley team, which also included Reza Safai, Andrew Mettry, Alice Wu, Christopher Kimball and Rebecca Ross.

    Cooley represented Augustus in its $180 million Series B financing at a $1 billion valuation. The round was led by Tiger Global, with participation from Hummingbird, QED, and the founders of Nubank, Ramp, Circle, and Deel. Augustus is building the Global Dollar Bank, providing international fintechs and banks with direct access to dollar accounts and payment rails through a modern, federally chartered bank.
