About Jordan

Jordan is a fund formation partner and chair of Cooley’s partner compensation committee. His practice is concentrated on the formation and representation of private investment funds – primarily venture capital and growth equity funds – in the US and globally. For more than 25 years, Jordan has acted in a leading legal capacity in the raising of more than $200 billion in private fund interests across a multitude of investment areas, primarily focusing on technology and life sciences. He also advises multinational enterprises, including Fortune 500 corporations in the technology, healthcare and aerospace sectors, in the structuring of their corporate venture capital funds and investments in third-party funds. In addition, Jordan has helped to mediate and resolve multibillion-dollar founder disputes and other special situations in respect of private funds. He is deeply knowledgeable about cross-border regulations applicable to global venture capital and private equity funds, particularly those operating in both the US and Asia.

Jordan is the creator and founder of Vanilla by Cooley, a proprietary cloud-based subscription service for raising venture capital funds that has transacted more than $90 billion in closings for 1,000+ funds and 50,000+ registered investors since its launch in 2019. He also serves as a managing member and investment committee member of GC&H Investments, an investment fund for Cooley’s lawyers. Jordan is a regular panelist at US, Caribbean and Asian industry seminars and events, where he speaks on a range of legal topics related to venture capital and private equity fund formation and investing.
