Cooley advised SnagFilms on its sale of Indiewire to Penske Media. Founded in 1996, Indiewire.com developed a strong following with its focus on news and reviews for industry insiders and fans of independently produced movies and TV content. Indiewire was acquired by SnagFilms in 2008.

SnagFilms CEO Rick Allen said in a statement that: "After careful consideration of the ingredients that could make the next eight years and beyond even more impactful, we determined that Penske Media would provide the optimum home for Indiewire."
