About Ariel
Ariel represents technology, life sciences and healthcare companies in their complex commercial and business disputes, including contractual, M&A and trade secret litigation. Ariel has experience litigating high-stakes arbitrations, class actions and trials, and she advocates for clients in state and federal courts in the US. In addition, Ariel provides business-focused counsel on litigation strategy, negotiations, mediations and risk avoidance.

Trials and arbitrations
- Successfully represented a life sciences client in an arbitration, resulting in the claimant recovering less than 1% of its claimed damages and the client recovering 100% of its counterclaims*
- Prevailed on all claims and counterclaims in an arbitration for a venture capital fund*
- Secured a complete defense verdict after a six-week trial before a federal jury in an antitrust “pay-for-delay” case*
- Successfully represented a company in an arbitration involving breach of contract and fraud claims*
Commercial litigation
- Defended against class actions involving consumer protection, false advertising and unfair competition*
- Achieved dismissal of a federal court complaint and compelled the plaintiff to pursue claims in arbitration for a life sciences client*
- Represented a healthcare company in an earnout dispute in the Delaware Court of Chancery, eventually resulting in a favorable settlement for client*
Pro bono
- Obtained summary judgment ruling for class action plaintiffs in a civil rights impact litigation*
- Secured partial summary judgment for class action asylum seekers*
- Represented an individual seeking asylum from Afghanistan*
- Represented incarcerated individuals in 1,983 disputes*
- Prevailed in a veteran’s disability appeal*

Before joining Cooley, Ariel served as a law clerk to senior Judge David A. Ezra of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, and she worked at two international law firms in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. At Berkeley Law, Ariel was an articles editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and a board member of Women of Berkeley Law. Before becoming a lawyer, Ariel worked in the services marketing division for an international technology company, where she supported sales enablement, employee engagement and market intelligence.
