About Alex

Alex focuses her practice on complex litigation matters and appellate work, in addition to arbitration and internal investigations. Her clients include large public and private technology and life sciences companies, as well as high-profile individuals. Alex also has significant experience drafting winning motions and briefs and handling discovery disputes.

As a first-generation Guatemalan-Yugoslavian American, Alex possesses vast international experience, cultural competency and Spanish fluency. She also maintains a robust pro bono practice, and she’s passionate about civil rights, reproductive justice, immigrant rights, voting rights, climate justice and international human rights.

In her current role at Cooley, Alex is the head of the firm’s First-Generation Professionals group and the New York chapter of Cooley’s Latinx Affinity Group. She’s also an active member of the Women of Color Initiative, as well as a vigorous advocate of mental well-being who maintains a trauma-informed practice.
