Three Cooley Partners Named Top IP Lawyers by Daily Journal

Palo Alto – April 28, 2022 – The Daily Journal has recognized intellectual property partners Bobby Ghajar, Heidi Keefe and Mika Reiner Mayer in its annual Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California report.

The Daily Journal highlighted Los Angeles-based Ghajar’s extensive track record as an enforcer and litigator of complex trademark and copyright matters for top brands, including Apple, Ernst & Young, Meta Platforms, and Victoria’s Secret. Year after year, the World Trademark Review has recognized him among trademark lawyers nationwide – one of few ranked in the gold-tier category. He was also noted for his successful defense of Upwork on appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and for his precedential win for Quadranet in a secondary liability copyright case.

Keefe, based in Palo Alto, was noted for her successful representation of Facebook in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, where, just one week before a jury trial was set to begin, she secured a summary judgment in a rare judicial opinion that invalidated all 17 of the plaintiff’s patent claims. In addition to her recognition as a Top IP Lawyer, the Daily Journal previously listed her among the Top Women Lawyers in California.

Mayer, also based in Palo Alto, was noted for handling more IP due diligence reviews than any attorney nationwide. She is one of the most sought-after lawyers in patent prosecution and strategic portfolio management for life sciences startups and established companies alike.
