Humio Agrees to Sell to CrowdStrike for $400 Million

February 25, 2021

London – February 25, 2021 – Cooley advised Humio, a provider of high-performance cloud log management and observability technology, on its agreement to sell to cloud data cybersecurity platform CrowdStrike for approximately $400 million. Partners Ben Shribman, Ian Nussbaum and Ryan Naftulin led the transatlantic Cooley team advising Humio.

CrowdStrike and Humio share the vision that contextual data can help solve critical enterprise problems across cybersecurity and beyond. The acquisition allows CrowdStrike to accelerate the extraction of value from data by enabling customers to collect data in real time and at scale. CrowdStrike will also leverage Humio's streaming analytics to power cloud log management to redefine its extended detection and response capabilities.

“We are thrilled to join CrowdStrike, the company that is leading the security industry with its cloud-native data platform, designed to support customers in establishing more mature and reliable security programs,” Geeta Schmidt, chief executive officer and co-founder at Humio, said in a news release. “CrowdStrike’s security cloud is the ideal platform to extend Humio’s technology and reach while continuing our mission to empower customers to make data-rich decisions.”

Humio's log management platform offers the lowest total cost of ownership, industry-leading unlimited plans, minimal maintenance and training costs and remarkably low compute and storage requirements. Humio is the only log management solution that enables customers to log everything to answer anything in real-time – at scale, self-hosted or in the cloud.
