Cooley Partner Adam Ruttenberg Recognized for Innovative Leadership in Financial Times Report

Washington, DC – December 14, 2020 – Cooley partner and technology committee chair Adam Ruttenberg was featured in the 2020 Financial Times North America Innovative Lawyers report in a special category recognizing top law firm leaders who have made an impact at their firms through their capacity to innovate.

This marks the 15th year that the Financial Times has partnered with its research partner, RSG Consulting, to publish its Innovative Lawyers reports, which assess legal industry innovations and innovators for their originality, leadership and impact. The structure of the 2020 report changed to reflect the year’s unusual circumstances and explore topical questions, critical trends and the future of the industry.

The special category featuring Ruttenberg highlighted leaders who have made their firms more efficient, inclusive and digital, from pushing for better use of technology to training the next generation. The write-up touched on Ruttenberg’s development and implementation of tech-based tools, systems and processes to improve the lives of Cooley clients and employees.

In particular, the piece focused on Ruttenberg’s leading role in Cooley’s creation of Lupl, an open industry platform for legal matters launched this year in collaboration with CMS and Rajah & Tann, as well as his development of automation workflows to streamline core processes and FINIQ, a proprietary Cooley tool that provides real-time access to current and historical financial and client data.
