Daily Journal Names Three Cooley Partners Top IP Lawyers

April 24, 2018

Palo Alto – April 24, 2018 – The Daily Journal has recognized litigation partners Bobby Ghajar, Heidi Keefe and Mika Reiner Mayer in its annual Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California report. Keefe and Mayer have been named to the report for six years running.

The Daily Journal highlighted Los Angeles-based Ghajar’s deep-rooted experience in handling complex trademark and copyright litigation matters for top brand owners, including securing a complaint dismissal brought against international brewery Anheuser-Busch InBev. Year-after-year, the World Trademark Review has recognized him as one of the top trademark lawyers in California – one of few ranked in the gold-tier category – and he has earned accolades in the Legal500 and other benchmark publications.

Keefe, based in Palo Alto, has 100+ patent cases and more than 20 years of experience under her belt. She understands the ever-changing nature of patent law and is well-prepared for the challenges, and combines her savvy and experience as a former astrophysicist in her work. In addition to Top IP Lawyer, the Daily Journal previously recognized her as a Top Women Lawyer and The Recorder recently named her a Woman Leader in Tech Law.

Mayer, also based in Palo Alto, is one of the most sought-after lawyers in patent prosecution and strategic portfolio management for life sciences startups and established companies alike. The Daily Journal highlights her background in chemical engineering and Mayer reflects on how the rigorous curriculum prepared her to be a practical problem solver for her clients, many of whom are working on breakthrough medical treatments. HuffPost recently featured Mayer in its Women in Business Q&A, noting her as the go-to diligence counsel in Silicon Valley for life sciences companies and their investors.
