Playbook HR Acquired by Intuit

Palo Alto – March 27 2015 – Cooley advised Playbook HR Inc. on its acquisition by Intuit Inc. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Playbook HR is a leading solution for on-demand marketplaces to manage the hiring, on-boarding, and compliance needs of independent contractors. Intuit creates business and financial management solutions that simplify the business of life for small businesses, consumers and accounting professionals.

Playbook HR plans to integrate with Intuit's Quickbooks Online Self-Employed software to provide an efficient end-to end compliance experience for the on-demand economy. According to the Intuit press release, their goal is "to make it easier for independent contractors to manage their finances and pay their taxes, and also make it possible for on-demand marketplaces to manage their growing rosters of independent contractors and help them stay within the compliance guidelines."

The team advising Playbook included partner Matt Bartus and associates Josh Seidenfeld and Matt Fleming.
