1010data Sells to Advance for $500 Million

August 12, 2015

Washington, DC – August 12, 2015 – Cooley advised 1010data, Inc. on its sale to Advance Publications. According to the Wall Street Journal, the acquisition indicates "the growing interest in technologies that can process large amounts of data."

1010data is a provider of big data discovery and data sharing solutions. Advance is a global, diversified private media company.

"The transaction was mutually beneficial – Advance/Newhouse was interested in investing in the Big Data space, and we had been planning to consider a strategic transaction if we found the right partner," said Greg Munves, president of 1010data. "Cooley's experience representing technology companies, particularly in the Big Data space is unparalleled, and no doubt helped us achieve a favorable outcome for both sides. We are excited to be a part of the Advance family."

The Cooley corporate team advising 1010data included partners Mike Lincoln and Kevin Mills and associates Derek Colla, Eric Dixon, Alexander Weaver and Alison McCormick.
