Cooley Litigators Michael Rhodes and Mike Attanasio Named 2012 "MVPs" by Law360

December 4, 2012

Palo Alto, Calif. – December 4, 2012 – Cooley LLP announced today that partners Michael Rhodes and Mike Attanasio have been named MVPs by Law360 in the "Privacy & Consumer Protection" and "White Collar" categories, respectively. This is Rhodes' second consecutive year receiving the distinction of "Privacy MVP" by Law360, a feat achieved by only three other attorneys in the United States.

Michael Rhodes, who is based in San Francisco and San Diego, serves as chair of the firm's 325-lawyer Litigation department and as co-chair of both the Internet and Privacy practices.  Rhodes has one of the nation's leading privacy practices, representing Facebook in many of its privacy class actions and currently handling multiple privacy class actions for Google, Time, Condé Nast, Soundbite, The Weather Channel, LinkedIn, Sony, Living Social, HTC, and Provide Commerce. Cooley's Privacy practice has 40 attorneys and is one of the country's most well-known.

Mike Attanasio is partner in charge of the San Diego office and a vice chair of the firm's Litigation department.  A former federal prosecutor, Attanasio specializes in white collar criminal defense and internal investigations and complex civil trials.  He has represented individuals and corporations in high-profile proceedings and investigations being conducted by various United States Attorney's Offices, the SEC, the FBI, congressional committees, and Major League Baseball.  His triumphant work as co-lead counsel in Roger Clemens' perjury trial defense – including his acclaimed cross examination of Andy Pettitte – was highlighted by Law360 and across many other media in 2012.
