Privacy Talks

From the General Data Protection Regulation to the California Consumer Privacy Act – and all the other new data protection frameworks arising in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America – navigating the global data protection landscape is a challenge for most organizations. In this virtual series, Cooley practitioners provide attendees with practical guidance and best practices around managing data protection-related issues. We also keep you up to date on recent developments in the ever-evolving regulatory landscape.

Session 5 – CCPA’s Risk Assessments, Cybersecurity Audits and Automated Decision-Making

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) imposes requirements on regulated business relating to cybersecurity audits, risk assessments and automated decision-making technology. The California Privacy Protection Agency has published drafts of regulations regarding these topics. In this session, Cooley cyber/data/privacy partner David Navetta, special counsel Kristopher Kleiner, and associate Christian Lee will discuss the current state of the draft regulations and best practices for businesses to consider with respect to these topics.
