About Summer

Summer Wynn's practice encompasses employment litigation and counseling, environmental and land use litigation and counseling, and complex commercial litigation, including class actions. She has both trial and appellate experience representing clients in litigation.

Summer represents employers across many different industries in wage and hour class and representative actions involving claims regarding misclassification, overtime, "off-the-clock" work, meal and rest periods, alternative workweeks, vacation policies, deductions from wages, employment applications, tip pools, wage statements and employee records, expense reimbursement, the California Private Attorneys General Act (“PAGA”), Cal-WARN and the federal WARN Act and the California Unfair Competition Law. 

She also represents employers in litigation matters on a wide variety of individual claims, including wrongful termination, harassment and discrimination and retaliation.

Summer has significant trial experience, including class action trial experience, and she has extensive experience litigating cases on appeal in state and federal courts.

She also litigates environmental claims under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), the National Environmental Policy Act ("NEPA"), the federal Coastal Zone Management Act ("CZMA"), the California Coastal Act, the California Alquist-Priolo Act, the California Seismic Hazards Mapping Act and the San Diego Unified Port District Act, and represents clients in disputes with various federal, state and local public agencies, and special districts regarding jurisdictional, land use, environmental and other permitting issues.

Summer’s practice also includes counseling clients pre-litigation, and negotiating and mediating resolutions of disputes.

She dedicates a significant portion of her practice to pro bono work. Summer serves on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, and she received the firm's Pro Bono Achievement Award in 2010 for her outstanding contribution to the firm's Pro Bono Practice.

During law school, Summer externed for Justice Joyce L. Kennard of the California Supreme Court. She also participated in several national moot court competitions, including the Evan A. Evans Constitutional Law National Moot Court Competition where she placed third for Best Oral Advocate.
