
About Sophie
Sophie advises private and public companies at all stages of growth on a variety of transactional matters, including venture capital financings, M&A, capital markets, US Securities and Exchange Commission reporting, and corporate governance.
Sophie began her career in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s investment banking division, then worked at Bridgewater Associates, the largest hedge fund in the world by assets under management, as a consultant to investors on portfolio management and macroeconomic matters. Her interest in startups was piqued when she began working for Principles, Bridgewater’s internal startup aimed at designing cultural and human resources technology tools.
During law school, Sophie served on the editorial board of the Michigan Law Review as an executive editor, with supervisory and comprehensive editing responsibility for full-length articles and other pieces. Upon graduating, she was awarded the Howard B. Coblentz Prize for the highest record of excellence on the Law Review’s editorial board. Sophie also taught undergraduate courses throughout law school, including in the University of Michigan Honors Program.
Sophie grew up in Boston and attended college in Portland, Oregon. She has also lived in Western Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Chicago, Washington, DC, New York City, Connecticut, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Minneapolis, Berlin and Santa Monica, California.
