Sascha Grimm

Sascha is a partner in Cooley’s commercial litigation department, co-chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative and co-leader of the global hearings and inquiries practice. Sascha’s experience spans complex civil litigation, regulatory investigations and disputes arising out of product compliance issues, across a range of industries, with a focus on life sciences and technology. She has particular experience in representing defendant clients in mass actions and guiding clients through government hearings and public inquiries in the UK.

Sascha has been listed by The Lawyer Magazine as one of the “Hot 100” lawyers in the UK. She has also been recommended by The Legal 500 UK since 2019.

Sascha’s experience includes:

• Defending a social networking app against a High Court group action alleging misuse of sensitive data
• Representing a Core Participant in the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry and related group litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution
• Acting for a pharmaceutical company in complex High Court proceedings regarding the conduct of a clinical trial
• Advising clients in respect of Ofcom investigations and challenges
• Conducting internal investigations for clients in crisis situations where there is a significant threat to the business or reputation, which often involve regulatory reporting, dealing with threatened and actual litigation, and advising on the internal and external communications strategy
• Advising pharmaceutical companies in relation to disputes with manufacturers and in respect of clinical trials
• Representing a government in International Criminal Court (ICC) arbitration against a national healthcare provider
• Leading a large project for a global online retailer to tackle persistent cybercrime, including using various civil and criminal remedies available as well as advising on changes to internal policies and procedures
• Acting for one of the four defendants in a high-profile High Court dispute arising from the sale of Formula One
• Acting for a major online retailer in relation to trade mark infringement proceedings in the High Court
• Acting for the owners of a Premier League football club in proceedings before the Court of Appeal
