Sarah Young

Sarah Young leads the Cooley finance team in London, providing oversight and advice on all aspects of finance, including tax, accounting, financial reporting and compliance. She is Cooley's Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA) with responsibility to meet the regulatory requirements of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA).

Sarah is a chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). She completed her accountancy training with Deloitte in 1999, joining Kendall Freeman (later Edwards Angel Palmer & Dodge and Edwards Wildman Palmer) in 2004.

In September 2013, Sarah was appointed as Head of Finance (Europe and Asia) at Edwards Wildman Palmer, before joining Cooley in January 2015. She has spent the last 15 years focusing on and working in the legal sector, particularly US law firms in London and has extensive knowledge of the financial reporting, partnership taxation, and partners’ personal tax requirements of UK/US law firms. She also has considerable experience in running overseas offices of international law firms.
