About Robert

Rob Kerr has over 25 years of experience in the strategic planning, implementation and management of information systems and technology for corporations, governmental agencies and law firms. At Cooley, he oversees the information services, technology development and management, security and information governance, legal service and delivery, and knowledge management and research teams. During his tenure at Cooley, Rob has built the information and technology department into a global team responsible for innovation and supporting the firm’s clients and information services needs.

During his time at Cooley, Rob has rebuilt and restructured the information and technology department and deployed a new network infrastructure, marketing and business development technologies, collaboration tools, and file and asset management applications. Rob and his team have also designed and deployed the technology-enabled office that is now the standard for all Cooley offices.

Rob was the managing director for eSentio for seven years, working with many of the Am Law 100 law firms. He worked as an associate director at Navigant Consulting, providing information life cycle management consultation to legal and corporate clients. Prior to Navigant, Rob spent eight years as a partner at Baker Robbins.

Rob is a published author and speaker on the subjects of technology, information and enterprise content management, security, e-records archiving and retention, strategic planning and organization-building team management.
