Reilly S. Hobson

Reilly advises public and private companies, private equity sponsors, and their portfolio companies and investors on middle-market to multibillion-dollar business transactions, including negotiating complex mergers, add-on acquisitions, growth equity investments and joint ventures. He counsels clients across the deal life cycle in a range of industries, including technology, energy, digital infrastructure and project development.

Reilly also counsels executive teams and general counsel on corporate governance matters, including entity formation, executive employment and incentive equity arrangements, and commercial agreements, such as project-level joint ventures and power purchase and offtake arrangements. He advises clients on domestic and cross-border acquisition and disposition of power generation equipment, including transactions with data center and AI companies, as well as platform-level investments supporting the development and financing of energy and infrastructure assets.

Before joining Cooley, Reilly was an associate at a top international energy law firm in New York, where he worked on complex energy transactions.

In law school, Reilly served as a senior editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and as a legal extern with the Economic Crimes Unit of the US Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey.
