About Rachel

Rachel's practice focuses on advising a broad range of clients, including insureds, brokers and insurtechs. She regularly advises on claims and coverage issues in the areas of directors and officers liability (D&O), employment practices liability (EPL), cyber liability, professional liability (E&O), human clinical trial, and general liability (E&O), as well as dealing with complex insurance product development and insurance disputes.

In particular, she frequently advises clients in the bankruptcy context and ahead of IPOs (including through SPAC transactions).

Rachel also has experience advising private institutions, including colleges and universities, on risk management issues and complex insurance claims involving accusations of sexual abuse and other misconduct; sports-related injuries, including concussions; and employment-related claims, including improper poaching and wrongful termination.

Additionally, Rachel has experience providing insurance-related advice on mergers and acquisitions, assisting in the procurement and negotiation of representation and warranty insurance (R&W), conducting insurance-related diligence and providing insurance regulatory advice. She also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining Cooley, Rachel was an associate at a boutique insurance coverage and litigation firm, where she served as coverage and litigation counsel to domestic and international insurers.
