About Peter

Peter advises the firm on legal ethics, risk management, conflicts of interest, and other professional responsibility and compliance issues.

Before joining Cooley, Peter worked as senior conflicts counsel in the office of general counsel at an Am Law 100 firm. He began his legal career at the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois (ARDC), where he investigated and prosecuted lawyer disciplinary matters involving conflicts of interest, misappropriation of client funds, and other alleged misconduct.

During his career, Peter has given presentations on legal ethics to in-house legal departments, bar associations and law schools. He served as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he supervised and mentored law students while teaching the Externship Intensive Field Placement course.

While attending law school, Peter worked as a judicial extern to Judge Charles P. Kocoras of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and as a law clerk at the ARDC.
