About Monica
Monica represents clients in complex commercial disputes. With an emphasis on trial work, she focuses her practice on matters involving intellectual property, technology and high-stakes business issues. Monica has represented clients across a range of industries, including tech, life sciences, financial services and healthcare, and advises on matters involving patents, trade secrets, contracts and antitrust disputes. Adept at distilling complex technologies and legal issues down to key takeaways, Monica brings her dynamic and strategic perspective to every matter.
Before joining Cooley, Monica clerked for Judge George H. Wu of the US District Court for the Central District of California. She began her career at an elite litigation firm, advising clients through all stages of litigation, from pre-suit through trial, securing victories at every stage.
During her studies at the University of Michigan Law School, Monica was on the executive board of the Michigan Law Review and worked as a research assistant to professor Nicholson Price in life sciences and health law. Before law school, Monica worked as a systems engineer at Northrop Grumman.

- Representing a biotechnology company in a patent infringement suit related to optofluidic cell biology platform systems*
- Assisting in securing a $300 million patent infringement jury trial award for a matter involving 4G LTE technology*
- Representing tenant rights in an eviction moratorium case, amici curiae of former federal and state prosecutors in support of a grant of a writ of certiorari regarding the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit’s blanket rule against reopening habeas judgment based on habeas counsel abandonment, and clients in domestic violence restraining order proceedings*
