Michael is a trusted advisor to leading companies navigating high-stakes government investigations, enforcement actions and complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence and consumer protection matters.
Michael’s representative matters include counseling:
- An online video service in a lawsuit alleging that training large language models on video data constituted copyright infringement and violated California consumer protection laws*
- A technology company in defense of a state attorney general action alleging claims under state biometric privacy and consumer protection laws*
- A fintech platform in defense of a lawsuit filed by the attorney general of the District of Columbia*

In addition to his extensive experience in private practice, Michael brings valuable in-house perspective from his tenure at Google, where he served as regulatory and litigation counsel. In that role, he led responses to global regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions, and managed litigation involving privacy, data collection and consumer protection issues.
