Mengran Liu

Mengran is a patent agent in the litigation department and a member of the life sciences patent counseling and prosecution practice. She assists pharmaceutical, biotechnology and startup companies in developing and growing their intellectual property. She also counsels on US and foreign patent prosecution, due diligence, and freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses.

Before joining Cooley, Mengran worked as a patent technology adviser at a US-based international law firm. She performed postdoctoral research in organic chemistry and electrochemistry at Harvard University’s Nocera Lab. As a graduate research fellow at North Carolina State University’s Lindsey Lab, Mengran focused on organic synthesis and created synthetic approaches to novel molecules with distinctive photophysical properties.
