About Matthew M.

Matt is an experienced litigator and strategic advisor, having worked at the White House, US Department of Commerce and US Department of Justice (DOJ). He represents clients in high-stakes disputes, focusing on litigation and investigations.

Before joining Cooley, Matt worked in the Office of the General Counsel at the Department of Commerce. He advised on rulemaking related to technology and national security and on congressional investigations into the department. Before Commerce, Matt worked at the White House Presidential Personnel Office, where he vetted senior White House leadership applicants and presidential nominees seeking Senate confirmation. Prior to the White House, he worked at the DOJ, serving as a trial attorney and litigating civil and criminal cases.

Matt also clerked at the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
