About Marzi
Marzi provides prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses, analyzes patent and scientific papers, and drafts patent applications and responses to office actions.
She has extensive experience in technology transfer and new product development in the medical device field, with a focus on products such as electrosurgical grounding pads, drug delivery systems, and microfluidic devices for diagnostic and drug delivery application.
Before joining Cooley, Marzi worked as a patent specialist, creating detailed claim charts in the electronics sector, focusing on touch screens and display panels. She also conducted patent portfolio reviews in the medical device field to assist in intellectual property landscaping.
Her PhD research focused on developing a microfluidic platform for tissue dissociation and single-cell analysis, while her master’s research explored a biodegradable thermosensitive hydrogel for drug delivery applications.
Marzi has also served as a research and development manager in the polymer industry, working on automotive parts, geomembranes and packaging films.
