About Mark

Mark Tanoury's practice includes all areas of corporate, partnership and securities law, with a focus on the formation and financing of emerging growth companies and venture capital partnerships. He has served as lead counsel in a wide variety of public and private financings over the years and has been a speaker at numerous seminars on the topic.

Mark has been recognized by Chambers USA (2008 – 2022) as a national Band 1 leader in the categories of Startups & Emerging Companies and Investment Funds: Venture Capital and in California as a leader in Corporate/M&A: Venture Capital. He has been consistently named as a leading lawyer by Best Lawyers in America in the category of Venture Capital Law; Securities/Capital Markets Law and Private Equity Law. He has been highlighted in the Hall of Fame by Legal 500 in the Venture Capital & Emerging Companies category. 

Mark has been with Cooley since his legal career began in 1982. He served as chair of Cooley's business department from 1999 to 2002 and currently serves on the firm's compensation committee.
