
About Lilia
Lilia is an experienced litigator who represents clients in complex civil matters, arbitrations and investigations. Her practice includes litigating and counseling on data privacy and security, consumer class actions, contractual disputes, business torts, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, trade secrets and unfair competition. Lilia’s experience extends to all stages of litigation, from pre-dispute counseling and dispositive motion practice through trial and the appeals process.
She has represented clients across industries, including internet and social media, virtual reality, software, fintech and biotech, among others.
Lilia’s recent representative experience includes:
- Successfully resolving a privacy litigation against a major technology company
- Defending a software developer against claims of copyright infringement and data misuse
- Representing a major social media company against unfair competition claims arising out of its advertising practice
- Defending a biotech company in a contract and trade secret dispute
- Defending a car sharing company against unfair competition claims and regulatory challenges in multiple jurisdictions
Lilia was previously an attorney-adviser at the US Department of State, where she served as its primary privacy lawyer and defended it in litigation. Before joining Cooley, she also served as a judicial extern to Judge Edward M. Chen of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
