Laurence Li
About Laurence
Laurence focuses on the formation and operation of private investment funds. He advises sponsors and investors on fund formation, co-investment, secondary transactions and other bespoke arrangements, particularly in artificial intelligence, life sciences and other technology sectors. He also has experience in investment screening and tech regulatory matters.
Laurence received his LLM from Harvard Law School, where he was awarded the Yong K. Kim ’95 Writing Prize and served on the Harvard Law School Student Funding Board. He received his JD and JM from Peking University School of Transnational Law, where he was selected as valedictorian speaker. During law school, he worked at a multilateral development bank in Washington, DC, and split a summer between a foreign policy non-governmental organization on US-China relations in DC and an international law firm in Beijing.
Laurence is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.
