About Kristopher

Kris focuses his practice on data privacy and information security, and he has extensive experience advising clients across multiple industries on various data privacy and protection issues, including working with clients to help achieve compliance with an expanding and complex legal privacy landscape. He has also advised clients on privacy and security-related terms in contractual and transactional engagements, as well as identifying, remediating, and responding to data privacy incidents. In addition, he has counseled clients on responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations; developing, implementing, and training related to incident response planning policies and procedures; and conducting data privacy due diligence in corporate transactions. Kris earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Before joining Cooley, Kris worked in the data privacy practice group for a large, multinational firm, and served as a judicial intern for Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory J. Hobbs Jr. and Colorado Second Judicial District Court Judge Michael A. Martinez. Prior to attending law school, Kris worked in business management and management consulting, and he has experience managing small to mid-size businesses, as well as assisting clients with developing and implementing operational improvements and cost-saving measures.
