About Kalyani

Kalyani focuses on patent prosecution in pharmaceuticals and life sciences. She drafts and prosecutes US and international patent applications, conducts patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses, and performs intellectual property (IP) due diligence related to in-licensing and investment.

Before joining Cooley, Kalyani worked at a boutique law firm, where she managed IP portfolios and provided strategic advice to startups in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology space. Her technical background includes small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, antibody-drug conjugates, polymers, methods of treating diseases, polymorphs, salt forms and formulations.

Kalyani’s PhD and postdoctoral research have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
