About Justin

Justin Stock is a partner in Cooley's corporate practice and is managing partner of our London office. He focuses on M&A, corporate finance and private equity. Justin has acted on acquisitions and disposals (primarily cross border) for trade buyers and portfolio companies acquiring and disposing of both controlling and noncontrolling interests. He is experienced in both public to private transactions and private mergers and has worked on securities transactions, including large IPOs, placings, secondary issues and convertible debt issues.

Justin's clients include public and private companies, private equity houses, investment managers, venture capitalists and banks. He has particular experience in advising companies in the technology and internet sector.

  • Super Group, a holding company for leading global online sports betting and gaming businesses Betway and Spin, on its agreement to merge with Sports Entertainment Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company or SPAC
  • RZC Investments on acquiring control of British upmarket cycling brand Rapha
  • Susquehanna Private Capital on its acquisition of the global leader in interpretation and translation technology, thebigword Group
  • Autodesk, in its $172.5 million acquisition of Delcam
  • Apollo Global Management, in relation to Athene Holding's private placement offering; Athene raised $289.048 billion of primary equity commitments
  • The Vistria Group and Apollo Global Management on their $1.1 billion acquisition of Apollo Education Group
  • Fastly Inc. on its acquisition of ReSRC, a responsive image service that delivers optimized, pixel perfect images
  • sovrn on its acquisition of adtech company OnScroll Limited 
  • Google Ventures on its $10 million investment in software company Weaveworks, Inc.
  • Sazerac on their £9 million acquisition of UK drinks distributor Hi-Spirits
  • GIC on its investment in Oxford Nanopore Technologies as part of the £100 million raised from global investors, including China Construction Bank International, Hostplus and existing investors
  • GIC on its $63 million investment into Intelligent Energy Holdings, an international power technology company
  • GIC on acquiring a stake in Swedish headquartered company Anticimex, the second largest pest control company in the world
  • Receipt Bank, an award-winning bookkeeping automation platform and one of Europe’s fastest-growing businesses, on its $50 million Series B funding led by Insight Venture Partners
  • Receipt Bank on their £7 million series A financing by Kennet Partners IV LP
  • Dragonplay, a games company, in its acquisition by Bally Technologies
  • Microgaming, in its investment in the Hippodrome Casino, and related joint venture, for the establishment of an online casino operation using the Hippodrome brand
  • AP Alternative Assets, on the transfer of significantly all of its investments to Athene Holding in exchange for 48.3 million Class A common shares of Athene and almost $556 million in cash and notes
  • SteelBrick on its acquisition of Invoice IT
  • Smart Voucher, an FCA-registered electronic money deposit-taking institution, in its acquisition by CVC Partners' portfolio company, Skrill Group
