Joyce Wang

Joyce Wang focuses her practice on core areas of corporate, partnership and securities law, with a particular emphasis on the asset management industry and cross-border fund transactions. She has extensive hands-on experience advising on the formation of private investment funds, global asset allocation by institutional investors, and highly complex and cutting-edge fund-related transactions, including fund restructurings, liquidity solutions and tokenization of fund interests.

As a key member of Cooley’s funds practice, Joyce has developed a strong foundation in traditional fund formation while actively advancing the firm’s innovative “Funds+” practice. This approach integrates fund legal services with the evolving needs of emerging sectors such as digital assets, fintech, life sciences and artificial intelligence. Through cross-disciplinary and comprehensive legal solutions, she assists corporate clients in expanding into new business areas and efficiently executing strategic initiatives.

Joyce has been at the forefront of supporting the emerging Hong Kong start-up ecosystem, with a particular focus on the intersection of law and technology. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a regular contributor to leading financial media on legal and regulatory issues relating to private funds and forward-looking structuring of fund investments.

Joyce also has experience in leveraged finance, capital markets and general corporate matters. Her legal training, transactional background and cross-border experience gained through practicing in New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong allow her to bring a unique perspective to clients when advising on their innovative, multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Joyce is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.
