About Joyce
Joyce Wang focuses her practice on core areas of corporate, partnership, and securities law, with a particular emphasis on the asset management industry and cross border fund transactions. She has extensive hands-on experience advising on the formation of private investment funds, global asset allocation by institutional investors, and highly complex, cutting-edge fund adjacent transactions, including fund restructurings, liquidity solutions, and the tokenization of fund interests.
As a key member of Cooley’s funds practice, Joyce is spearheading the firm’s “Funds+” initiative, built on a strong foundation of core fund formation capabilities. This innovative approach integrates traditional fund legal services with the evolving needs of high growth sectors such as digital assets, fintech, life sciences, and artificial intelligence. Through multidisciplinary and tailor-made legal solutions, she helps corporate clients expand into new business areas and efficiently execute strategic initiatives.
Joyce has been at the forefront of supporting Hong Kong’s emerging start up ecosystem, with a particular focus on the intersection of law and technology. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a regular contributor to leading financial media on legal and regulatory issues relating to private funds and forward-looking fund structuring.
Joyce also has experience in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance, capital markets and general corporate matters. Her legal training, transactional background and cross-border experience gained through practicing in New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong allow her to bring a unique perspective to clients when advising on their innovative, multi-jurisdictional transactions.
