About Joyce
Joyce Wang’s practice includes all areas of corporate, partnership and securities law, with a focus on the asset management industry. Joyce advises on private offerings and fund-related primary and secondary transactions. Joyce also has deep experience representing institutional investors in their global investments in private funds. Her clients include pre-eminent fund managers, sovereign wealth funds, multi-national corporations, financial institutions and technology companies. Joyce has been at the forefront of bringing together Cooley’s expertise in funds, fintech, life sciences and artificial intelligence to craft bespoke, interdisciplinary transaction solutions for clients. Joyce also actively supports the emerging Hong Kong start-up ecosystem, with a particular focus on the intersection of law and technology. Joyce is a frequent speaker and author on legal and regulatory issues concerning private funds and complex structuring of fund investments.
Prior to joining Cooley, Joyce was an M&A lawyer at a prominent Wall Street law firm, where she represented sponsors of private equity funds. She also has experience in leveraged financing, capital markets and general corporate matters. Joyce’s legal training, transactional background and cross-border experience gained through practicing in New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong allow her to bring a unique perspective to clients when advising their innovative, multi-jurisdictional transactions.
Joyce was listed as a “Key Lawyer for Investment Funds in China (Foreign Firm)” in the Legal 500 2025 Asia Pacific rankings.
Joyce is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.
