About John
John focuses on representing emerging and public growth companies and the venture capital firms that invest in them. John counsels companies throughout their life cycle on a full range of matters, including company formations, VC financings, initial public and follow-on public offerings, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnership and licensing transactions, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance, and day-to-day corporate counseling.
John works with clients in industries and sectors ranging from software as a service (SaaS), information technology, semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI) to medical devices, life sciences and digital health, as well as ecommerce, fintech, defense technology and energy innovation.
John has been a top-rated business and corporate attorney by Super Lawyers since 2005.
Prior to joining Cooley in 2008, John was an attorney at two prominent Silicon Valley-based law firms. Before law school, he served as a senior legislative assistant to now-former US Congressman Tom Campbell.
