About Janelle

Janelle handles a wide variety of complex commercial litigation and securities litigation matters in federal and state court. She focuses on securities class actions, derivative litigation, and defending companies in investigations conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Justice (DOJ) and Financial Industrial Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Janelle also counsels companies and their directors and officers on corporate governance, disclosure obligations and mitigating litigation risk.

Representative matters include:

  • Obtained complete dismissal of a securities class action and derivative suits on behalf of Fastly, Inc.
  • Defended publicly traded pharmaceutical companies and some of their officers in securities class action and derivative suits in both federal and state court
  • Defended Twitter Inc. and two former officers in a securities class action
  • Defended technology company against class action breach of contract, false advertising and unfair competition claims
  • Represented pharmaceutical company in investigation by the SEC and DOJ

Janelle also maintains a robust pro bono practice focusing primarily on immigration and criminal defense matters.

Janelle graduated cum laude from Santa Clara University School of Law and was honored with membership in the Order of the Coif. During law school she was the Senior Symposium & Production Editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and served as the Director of the law school’s Honors Moot Court Internal competition.
