About Jane

Jane represents clients in high-stakes federal and state litigation, mediation and internal investigations, with a focus on complex commercial disputes, M&A litigation, and trade secret and competition matters.

Her experience spans all stages of disputes, including motion practice, managing the preservation and collection of electronically stored information and other discovery, and settlement negotiations.

Jane’s pro bono practice focuses on civil rights, wrongful convictions and housing.

While in law school, Jane served on the editorial board of the Duke Law Journal, as president of the Women Law Students Association and as vice president of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.

Before pursuing a career in law, Jane worked as a financial and economic analyst, consulting for federal and state agencies and private sector clients. She received her graduate degree in applied economics from the University of Maryland, where her research focused on quantitative modeling of corporate responses to regulation.

Jane’s representative matters include:

  • Defending the board of directors of a private consumer products company in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy adversary proceeding bringing claims for breaches of fiduciary duty and fraudulent transfers*
  • Defending a Taiwanese company in a trade secrets action brought by a former collaborator*
  • Defending a major shareholder of a publicly traded media company in post-merger litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery*
  • Defending the directors and officers of a pharmaceutical company against fiduciary duty claims in a shareholder suit in the Delaware Court of Chancery*
  • Representing a financial services firm in responding to a federal grand jury subpoena, coordinating with in-house counsel, trading floor employees and the client’s information technology department to assess the scope of relevant information*
  • Securing the complete dismissal of shareholder securities claims against a software as a service (SaaS) provider arising from pandemic-related business impacts*
  • Representing a healthcare entity in a state attorney general investigation regarding privacy risks and marketing practices*
  • Representing a wrongfully detained individual in civil rights litigation against a county police department, securing a favorable settlement and effecting a police department policy change regarding warrantless arrests*
