About Fergal

Fergal advises a broad range of companies, from ambitious startups to established global businesses across multiple sectors, on product launches, regulatory compliance, investigations and recalls, with an emphasis on new technology companies seeking to develop world-changing products.

Fergal focuses on helping clients across multiple jurisdictions navigate a fast-moving and increasingly complex legal, regulatory and enforcement environment. Regularly working multi-jurisdictionally, Fergal is  known for providing practical and commercial counsel, consolidating complex information into practical, actionable and commercially grounded advice. He has extensive experience with requirements related to augmented and virtual reality (AR and VR) products, wearables, artificial intelligence and cyber, regularly providing advice on legislation that is still being shaped and debated by policymakers.

Alongside this, a core element of Fergal’s practice sits at the intersection of product safety and sustainability, including advising on emerging right to repair frameworks worldwide. He sees product safety and sustainability as increasingly convergent disciplines and advises clients on how to build compliance strategies that address both.

Fergal spent 16 months on secondment at a top global technology company and the leading developer of VR and AR products. During his secondment, he advised the business on all elements of the product life cycle from product concept through to launch and played a central role in managing the business' first global product recall, giving him hands-on insight into the pressures and practicalities clients face when things go wrong.
