About Felipe

Felipe focuses his practice on patent preparation and patent prosecution with an emphasis in the areas of material science, electrochemistry and life sciences.

Prior to joining Cooley, Felipe was a senior research scientist with ten years of industrial experience developing materials, components and products related to energy storage and energy conversion technologies (fuel cells, batteries, capacitors), biosensors, medical diagnostics, DNA manipulation and sequencing.

Felipe’s doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterization of materials that exhibit high activity for interfacial charge transfer reactions including semiconductor heterogeneous photocatalysts, organic-inorganic (hybrid) thin films, and bimetallic electrodes for solid oxide fuel cells. His work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals including Journal of the American Chemical Society, Journal of Power Sources, Energy & Fuel and Topics in Catalysis.
