About Ehijele
Ehijele focuses his practice on cutting-edge cybersecurity and data privacy legal issues, advising clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies in various industries – including ecommerce, consumer products, media and entertainment, technology, life sciences, software and finance. Ehijele provides strategic counseling to clients on contractual and transactional engagements and has a plethora of experience helping clients identify, respond to and remediate data privacy incidents, respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations, and develop, implement and conduct training related to incident response planning policies and procedures.
Ehijele also counsels clients on cybersecurity and data privacy matters related to adapting their compliance efforts to address various domestic and foreign privacy laws, including the California Privacy Rights Act and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation. With nearly a decade of experience as a cybersecurity engineer, Ehijele leverages his deep understanding of technology to inform his practice.
Before joining Cooley, Ehijele was a lead cybersecurity engineer in The MITRE Corporation’s cybersecurity strategy, policy and privacy department, where he worked on matters related to privacy, cybersecurity and national security. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has been designated a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
In his spare time, Ehijele employs his experience with and passion for cybersecurity and data privacy to promote public awareness and interest in the technical and legal aspects of both fields.
